Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will be having our Ash Wednesday services at 12:15 pm and 7 pm this Wednesday, February 18th. Come join us to start the season of Lent.

Congregational Meeting

Our Bi-Annual Congregational Meeting will be on Sunday, February 22nd in the sanctuary after worship service. In this meeting we will be discussing the 2025 Annual Report and voting on which members will attend the 2026 Indiana-Kentucky Assembly.

2026 Indiana-Kentucky Assembly

Living in Harmony: Together [we] may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."            (Romans 15:5-6)

June 6, 2026 the Indiana-Kentucky Synod will hold the 39th Annual Assembly. We will elect representatives at our voters assembly on the 22nd of February. This will be a Virtual Assembly and only go from 9:30a-1:00p. We will need one male and one female confirmed member as representatives. We can also send an additional youth/young adult representative and person of color/person whose first language is not English. Please let Pastor or Pat know if you are interested in filling one of these roles.

Sign Up to Observe How We Stream Our Service

The streaming team invites older youth (5th grade and up) and adult members to sign up to help with and/or observe how streaming Sunday worship service works. We ask those who have learned how to manage the audio to sign up for this task for Sundays they are available in February and March and if interested to sign up to observe and learn the streaming steps. We welcome others to observe the steps to manage the audio during worship. If you have questions, reach out to the streaming team: Bill Hillery or Kevin Hintzman. Please sign up HERE.

Midweek Worship in Lent

The Lenten Season begins on February 18th with Ash Wednesday. We will have services at 12:15 pm and 7 pm both at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC) to start this season of reflection and repentance.

We will continue the season of Lent with 12:15 pm midweek worship services here at HTLC which will be live-streamed and recorded for later access via our website and Facebook page. We will be looking at the book of Lamentations. 

Our evening services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church weekly beginning February 25 at 6 pm. This service will start with dinner discussion in the Narthex before moving into the sanctuary for Holden Evening Prayer. Discussion will focus on "Conversations with Jesus." 

Please sign up HERE to help with providing soups. We will need two soups each week, prepared in a crockpot. There is a preference for at least one soup to be broth based and dairy-free. Printed sign-ups will also be available.

February Youth Group Service Project

All 6th-12th graders are invited to join us on Sunday, February 22 for a meaningful morning of service and fellowship. We'll gather in the church basement at 9:00 am to pack 100 bagged lunches for Lafayette Urban Ministry, helping support our neighbors in need. After we finish packing lunches, we'll enjoy some fellowship time together with bagels and juice before the church service begins. 

We hope you can join us for this great opportunity to serve and connect!

TCMS High School Showcase

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC) will be hosting the Tippecanoe Chamber Music Society (TCMS) High School Showcase on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 3-4:30 PM in the HTLC sanctuary. This will be a concert of High School Chamber Music Groups heading to State ISSMA. There will be several schools represented at this showcase. Come join us to enjoy the musical talents of our local high school population!

The Season for Easter Flowers Has Come!

As we begin our season of Lent, the day of Easter approaches, which means it is time to purchase Easter flowers. There is a choice of lilies, purple hyacinths, and mixed tulips.

Details:

  • Each flower will have gold pot covers and will be $10 a flower.
  • Use the signup sheet in the Fellowship area to order plants.
  • Make checks out to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and designate: Easter Flowers on the memo line. If you use Vanco to contribute online, use the "Easter" category.                                                  Learn more about online donations.
  • Sunday, March 15th is the order deadline.

Chili Cookoff Winners

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC), Our Savior Lutheran Church (OSLC) and Purdue Lutheran Ministry came together last Friday at OSLC for the Second Annual Chili Cook Off. Competition was fierce between the 14 chilis and 2 soups. In addition to a fun evening of fellowship, we raised over $500 for PLM's Food Ministry. HTLC was well represented - Pastor Marc Cohen won Best Vegetarian Chili and the Ogbogu family won Best Chili Overall for their Igbo-Nigerian Chili.

HTLC Community Fair Committee Seeking Members

The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC) Community Fair Committee is seeking members to assist with this event. If you are interested, please contact any of the current members - Vicky Tetzloff, Pastor Jim Lichtenberger, Elizabeth Hawk, Rachel Gast, Steve Hahn, Judy Hahn, and Nita Cunningham. Additional information regarding the fair will be shared in the near future.

Updates for Our Senior Living Home Program

Thank You to Our Volunteers

Thank you to everyone who helped in any way at Christmas time. Thanks also to those who helped with the staff dinner at Heritage Healthcare or the staff dinner at Rosewalk on February 10th.

Volunteering

We have needs to further strengthen our Senior Living Home Program. We need one more volunteer for each of the following opportunities for one hour once a month or weekly:

  • Bible Study at Heritage Healthcare once a month at 9:45 am on Thursdays
  • Church service at St. Mary's on the fifth Sunday of the month at 3:30 pm
  • Bible study at Tippecanoe Villa on the second or fourth Sunday of the month at 2 pm

We also need available substitutes for transportation to or from nursing home services. We will also be trying to find help from other participating churches. If you would like to volunteer for any of these opportunities, please contact the office or talk to Linda Hedman.

Join us on Sundays, at 9 A.M. in the Narthex on the first floor for The Wired Word. This weekly Bible study curriculum connects the Bible to current events, open to everyone, seventh grade and older.

Since the Winter Olympics have almost concluded, this week’s Wired Word will focus on the role of religion in athletic achievement, the link between faith and fitness, and the question of what it means to glorify God.
